"Mingle On the Avenue" to Open in Pavilion GrandJanuary 28, 2014 by admin
Restaurateur Jose Filomeno will bring his Korean fusion-styled cuisine to Saratoga this spring. Mingle on the Avenue will open in the Pavilion Grand Hotel, the new luxury boutique hotel in Saratoga being built on Lake Avenue.
Filomeno, 34, opened Mingle nearly three years ago in Albany with his mother and head chef, Un-Hui Filomeno. Mingle on the Avenue is an ambitious next step, with twice the seating and double the staff. The kitchen will be overseen by head chef Brian Bowden, serving three meals daily. Proteins will be farm-raised locally, and sustainable seafood will be served.
Filomeno drew from his life experiences as he developed his signature cooking style. His father, Carmelo, is half Puerto Rican and half Italian, and his mother is Korean. The family’s moves between military bases allowed Filomeno to experience flavors from all over the world and incorporate them into his Korean-fusion cuisine.
Pavilion Grand Hotel, located two blocks off Broadway, will offer 48 suites designed for longer stays, with upscale amenities including penthouse suites on the 5th floor, with indoor and outdoor seating suitable for wedding rehearsal dinners and corporate events. The main restaurant will be on the ground floor of the hotel, with indoor seating for 111 and a 50-seat patio. Browse accommodations now.
